Quick Start Guide

Learn how to get started using the EMS platform, including creating a new evaluation, adding participants/users and making an evaluation "live"

Create a new blank evaluation

Create a blank evaluation for your setting. Once created, see our guidance on adding focus areas and statements.

Create a new evaluation using a template

Use one of our existing templates to create a new evaluation. Once created, statements can be amended and new statements added.

Register your EvaluateMySchool account

Understand how to register and login to your EMS account.

Add schools/participants to an evaluation

Understand how to add individual or groups of schools/participants to an evaluation. Participants/schools can be added individually or imported as a group via an Excel CSV file.

Add a user to a participant / school

As a participant admin user you can add other users to the system so that they can also contribute to the filling out of the evaluation.

Group schools into dashboards

Group schools together in a dashboard and add dashboard users. This is useful for multi-academy trusts and local authorities who work across sub-regions and phases.

Add organisational users

You may wish to add senior colleagues to evaluations. You can add users so they have the same permissions as you, or you can give organisation leaders permission to review some or all evaluation data without making changes.

Make the evaluation live

Once an evaluation is "live", it will become visible to users and can be completed. Clicking "Go Live" will also trigger emails to new users, inviting them to register.

Allow participants to see dashboard scores

This allows you to let participants of a dashboard see the overall scores for that dashboard, without sharing the individual participants scores that make up the dashboard.

Allow participants to see average scores across the whole evaluation

Allow participants to view average scores across the whole evaluation
